A SEVENTEEN fan has gone viral after revealing a purchase that stunned the entire fandom permanent ownership of a heart-shaped island in Jeollanam-do, Korea, dedicated to member Jeonghan.
According to the fan, the island is accessible from Mokpo via the 1004 Bridge. The post explained that they plan to complete the island’s official name change and future development “by the time Jeonghan retires.”

The fan further clarified their motivation in an additional message, stating that they made the purchase “because it’s something I could do for him when he deserves the world,” and emphasized that it was done purely “out of love, without expecting anything in return.”

While many found the gesture impressive and touching, others expressed concern, calling it excessive and unsettling. Some netizens referred to it as “scary obsession”, while others defended the fan’s autonomy and passion.
Online communities were filled with shock, disbelief, and humor. One user commented, “If they have that kind of money, can they buy PLEDIS too?” Another wrote, “This is the most extreme fan flex I’ve ever seen.” Meanwhile, supporters argued that it was the fan’s personal decision: “It’s their money. If this makes them happy, who are we to judge?”

As discussions continue, the fan’s island purchase remains one of the most surprising fan gestures in recent K-pop history, highlighting both the depth of fandom culture and the intense debates it can spark.
