Veteran singer Lee Hyo-ri recently shared candid advice for junior artists about maintaining professionalism and composure on set. The discussion took place on the YouTube channel ‘Hong’s MakeuPlay’, where she participated in a review of episode 8 of a Coupang Play series.

During the shoot, Lee Hyo-ri recalled a scene involving spangled false eyelashes, which caused the model, Park Tae-yoon, to shed real tears. Observing the situation, Lee Hyo-ri humorously mimicked pulling out eyelashes, joking, “If someone like me were here, I’d tolerate it at first but…” This lighthearted reenactment made the crew laugh.

Despite the humor, Lee Hyo-ri quickly shifted to a serious note, stressing that enduring physical discomfort is part of achieving a perfect shot. “Even if it makes you cry, or if it’s bloodshot tears, you endure it for the monitor to look beautiful,” she explained. She added with a smile, “But if you cried and the monitor doesn’t look good… then…” leaving the sentence hanging to elicit laughter from the crew.

Moving on from playful anecdotes, Lee Hyo-ri offered practical advice for younger artists: “Getting irritated or showing off on set doesn’t benefit anyone. If the mood becomes tense, the person who suffers most is ultimately yourself.”

She emphasized that no matter how challenging or unpleasant a situation is, true professionalism lies in transforming negative emotions into constructive energy. “Behave in ways that are helpful to yourself and the project,” she concluded.

Lee Hyo-ri’s words serve as a reminder that patience, emotional control, and professionalism are not only essential on set but are also crucial qualities for long-term success in the entertainment industry.
