On November 12, all five members declared their intent to resume activities under ADOR. However, the delivery of this news revealed a stark contrast. Haerin and Hyein issued their announcement through the agency itself, while Minji, Danielle, and Hanni made their declaration via their legal representatives approximately two and a half hours later.
According to a Munhwa Ilbo investigation, Haerin and Hyein had been discussing their return with ADOR for about a week before the public statement. The timing of the official announcement just one day before the November 13 deadline to appeal the exclusive contract lawsuit was strategic. ADOR, aware of their intent, reportedly waited until the legal deadline in hopes that the remaining members would also formally express their decision.

However, until the very day of the announcement, Minji, Danielle, and Hanni had not communicated any intent to return directly to ADOR. Their sudden declaration post-Haerin and Hyein’s statement was seen as a one-sided move, prompting ADOR to respond cautiously, stating they were “still verifying the sincerity of the decision.”
This divergence in communication reveals a deeper rift. While ADOR emphasized that Haerin and Hyein made their decision after thorough discussions involving their families especially important as both are minors the other three members claimed they had “carefully discussed among ourselves” before deciding to return. Their use of “we” excluded Haerin and Hyein, and notably, their discussion did not involve ADOR at all.

Their abrupt announcement via the media, rather than directly through the agency, has fueled speculation that the move was reactionary. One explanation cited was that a member currently being in Antarctica delayed communication, and since ADOR hadn’t responded, they were forced to issue the statement externally. However, many interpret this as consistent with the trio’s independent approach throughout the conflict.
Some fans have expressed disappointment that ADOR didn’t immediately welcome back the remaining three members. But insiders argue that unconditional acceptance without clarity could risk future unity. ADOR also has a responsibility to protect Haerin and Hyein, who took the initiative to resolve the matter cooperatively.

Without proper coordination, aligning with the trio’s timeline could create tension between them and Haerin and Hyein jeopardizing harmony within the group. The situation remains delicate, with the potential to impact both internal relationships and the future of NewJeans as a united act.
