Renowned actress Maggie Cheung, 61, has officially begun construction on her “Dream Garden” project in Bordeaux, France, on November 11. The beloved star envisions the space as a peaceful retreat for her retirement years.
According to CBN, Maggie hired a team of French architects to bring her vision to life. The first phase of the project focuses on land restoration and soil evaluation for cultivation. Once complete, she plans to grow lavender, roses, and olive trees plants she personally selected for their fragrance and symbolism. Maggie also shared her intention to make and share handmade products from her future harvests.
The actress revealed that the plot of land was a gift from a local friend. Since April, she has been sharing glimpses of her rural life feeding chickens, collecting eggs, climbing trees, and tending her garden. Despite the visible marks of age, her radiant smile and glowing skin have drawn praise from fans, who admire her natural beauty and tranquil lifestyle.

As reported by HK01, Maggie Cheung’s current life is described as “carefree and worry-free,” far removed from the noise of fame. She enjoys an unhurried existence close to nature and often expresses her joy at this new chapter. In one video, she reflected, “Everything here is simply wonderful.”
Maggie emphasized that everyone has their own journey: “Only you know when the right time is for change.” Now, she spends her days focusing on self-care, spending time with friends, and appreciating the silence of the countryside. “When you understand what you like and dislike, life becomes simpler and happier,” she said, sharing how she has learned to live fully in each moment.
Born in Hong Kong in 1964, Maggie Cheung immigrated to the UK at age eight before returning to Hong Kong at eighteen. Her rise to stardom began when she was crowned runner-up in the 1983 Miss Hong Kong Pageant, which led her to sign with TVB and enter the entertainment industry.

At her peak, according to Sohu, Cheung starred in up to 12 films and dramas a year, working alongside top stars such as Jackie Chan, Tony Leung, Andy Lau, and Leon Lai, and collaborating with acclaimed directors like Tsui Hark and Wong Kar-wai.
Her illustrious career brought her international acclaim. She received numerous acting honors, including the 4th Golden Horse Award and the 5th Hong Kong Film Award. Her performance in Clean earned her the Best Actress award at the Cannes Film Festival at age 40 marking a pinnacle moment before she shifted her focus to music and creative pursuits.
In August this year, Maggie opened her own social media account, and her debut video garnered over 880,000 likes. With multiple properties and an estimated personal fortune worth tens of millions of dollars, Maggie Cheung is now living her dream cultivating beauty, peace, and meaning in her French countryside sanctuary.
