Kim Se-ui (49), the head of the controversial YouTube channel Garo Sero Research Center, was summoned to the Seoul Gangnam Police Station on November 11, where he underwent a three-hour investigation. Upon exiting, he announced his intention to file a counter-suit against YouTuber Eun Hyun-jang for false accusations.
The Seoul Gangnam Police Station summoned Kim as a suspect on charges of defamation and insult under the Information and Communications Network Act. This investigation marked the first in a series of 16 related cases reassigned to a special task force following multiple complaints many of them filed by Eun Hyun-jang, operator of the channel The Master of Business.
Kim criticized the claims as baseless, stating, “Eun manipulated comments and view counts using macros, yet accused me despite never admitting to it himself. It’s a clear case of false accusation, and I plan to sue.”

He added that only a small portion of the questioning involved Eun Hyun-jang. “Most of the investigation focused on separate issues involving political figures such as President Lee Jae-myung, the People Power Party’s Kwon Young-se, and Democratic Party lawmaker Park Sun-won.”
Addressing the broader criticism aimed at him and new media, Kim argued, “Lumping all new media creators as cyberwreckers is just a tactic used by old media and some left-leaning groups to discredit us.”
In a phone interview with the Saemaul Broadcasting YouTube channel shortly after the investigation, Kim said, “The session lasted three hours and went smoothly. I know all the team leaders. I’m not afraid of being investigated, I cooperated fully. After being through this so many times, it’s quick and simple now.”
Reflecting on his current profession, he remarked, “I started as a journalist before turning to YouTube. But this platform has become a cesspool. Honestly, staying in traditional media seems much better. Lately, I’m seriously considering going back to journalism.”

Eun Hyun-jang had previously filed over 10 complaints against Kim, alleging he spread false claims including accusations of stock manipulation. During a recent National Assembly audit, it was revealed that 16–20 cases involving Kim were pending with Gangnam Police but had seen no progress, raising concerns about preferential treatment.
In response, Gangnam Police acknowledged the delays and reassigned 16 cases to a special investigation team. In total, Kim is now involved in 21 separate police cases. Authorities confirmed that the task force is reviewing them comprehensively and may summon him again if necessary.
Separately, Kim is also under investigation for releasing a forged audio recording in May, falsely claiming that actor Kim Soo-hyun dated the late Kim Sae-ron for six years since her minor years. That case, along with four others, is already under advanced review and is being handled outside the special task force.
