Rapper D.Ark (real name Kim Woo-rim) has been arrested by police on charges of marijuana distribution and use, according to a report by NewDaily on October 28.
The Mokpo Police Station executed an arrest warrant for D.Ark on October 27 under suspicion of violating South Korea’s Narcotics Control Act. While under investigation, D.Ark is said to have denied all allegations.
A representative from his agency also told media outlets that “the preliminary drug test came back negative,” adding that they are currently awaiting the results of a more detailed analysis.

Born in 2004 in Yanbian, Jilin, China, D.Ark first rose to fame in 2018 through Mnet’s popular hip-hop competition show Show Me the Money 777. At only 14 years old at the time, his impressive lyrical talent drew considerable attention. He further solidified his reputation by finishing third in High School Rapper 4 in 2021.
Over the years, D.Ark has released multiple songs including “Potential,” “Bye,” and “Stay,” and signed an exclusive contract with agency GOD’S PLAN in November 2024, continuing to pursue his music career actively.

This isn’t the first time D.Ark has found himself in controversy. In 2021, while still a minor, he posted a photo of himself at a bar on his personal social media, sparking backlash. He later deleted the post and issued a public apology, explaining that the drinks had been ordered by producers and older friends. “I just wanted to share in their world,” he wrote, adding that he would act more responsibly in the future.
According to South Korean law, marijuana use alone can result in up to 10 years in prison or a fine of up to 100 million KRW (approximately $74,000 USD). Charges involving distribution, sales, or brokering can lead to a minimum of five years in prison or even life imprisonment.
