AKB48 Team TP, the Taipei-based international sister group of Japan’s AKB48, has officially welcomed eight new members into its ranks as part of their sixth generation, sparking attention for the age diversity of its lineup ranging from 13 to 22 years old.

Among the new additions is Ningning, a 13-year-old trainee born on December 16, 2011, making her the youngest member ever introduced by the group. Following closely is Yuanyuan, who is 14 and was born on January 1, 2011.

The remaining sixth-generation recruits include:
Yumena (16)
Leilei (17)
Tuanzi (21)
Lele (21)
Yiqi (22)
Xixi (22)
These fresh faces are joining AKB48 Team TP as kenkyuusei, or trainees, meaning they will undergo a period of training and performance preparation before officially debuting in full-fledged group activities.

AKB48 Team TP has evolved significantly since its founding as the fifth international branch of AKB48. The group has seen 67 members across five previous generations. As of October 2025, the group’s roster stands at 36 members, with the new sixth generation poised to play a major role in shaping its next era.
While little is currently known about the personalities and talents of the newcomers, fans are already anticipating their development and future performances.
