Just a month after his wedding to a non-celebrity in September, Kim Jong-kook is sharing some exciting news: he’s set to become the MC of TV CHOSUN’s upcoming variety show Love That Sheds.

Billed as Korea’s one-of-a-kind “love diet” project, Love That Sheds combines romantic matchmaking with physical fitness. The show revolves around participants striving to lose weight while potentially finding love. Joining Kim Jong-kook as MCs are comedian Lee Soo-ji and actress Uee, forming a dynamic trio to lead the program.

Participants will undergo a two-month cohabitation challenge that involves intense dieting and emotional bonding. With professional support in fitness, nutrition, mental health, and relationship guidance, the show offers a structured and scientific approach to transformation—both physical and emotional.

The teaser trailer and official poster for Love That Sheds have already been unveiled. The preview kicks off with the lively energy of the three MCs announcing, “The only show in Korea where you lose weight and fall in love!” It then cuts to silhouettes of the contestants, each sharing heartfelt reasons for joining: “This feels like my only chance to get slim,” and “I just really want to fall in love.”

In a twist, the show opens with participants hiding their true selves. They introduce themselves as their “AI ideal” versions before casting first impression votes. The real challenge begins with a three-week “love diet,” where the emotional tension of budding romances fuels their motivation to change. The transformations are so dramatic that even the MCs can’t recognize the contestants by the end.

What really catches attention are the bold and passionate romantic moves from the cast—ranging from unexpected skinship and push-pull dynamics to intense jealousy. One female contestant casually asks, “Can I touch you while we work out?”, while a male contestant delivers a jaw-dropping line: “Am I being too much of a jerk right now?”

These moments prompt hilarious reactions from the MCs. Kim Jong-kook jumps up from his seat in shock, Uee fans her blushing face, and Lee Soo-ji exclaims, “When is the next shoot?” before cheekily adding, “I’ll just stay right here.”

Love That Sheds premieres on Wednesday, November 5 at 10 PM KST on TV CHOSUN.
