Im Siwan and Seol In Ah are reportedly in talks to take the lead roles in tvN’s upcoming romantic comedy Why You Don’t Know It’s a Girl?, sparking anticipation among fans of the genre.
According to an exclusive report by Xports News on October 24, both actors are positively considering their roles in this new drama, which is scheduled to air on tvN sometime next year. Why You Don’t Know It’s a Girl? originally gained popularity as a web novel and webtoon. The story is a gender-bending office rom-com featuring a woman who disguises herself as a man, blending action, mystery, and romantic tension.

The drama revolves around Yoon Yi Joon (played by Im Siwan), the eccentric third-generation chaebol of one of Korea’s largest conglomerates, who also becomes the prime suspect in a female secretary’s murder case. Enter Kang Jae Hee (played by Seol In Ah), a special forces police officer known for her combat skills and physical strength that surpass most men. She goes undercover as Yoon Yi Joon’s male secretary and bodyguard to investigate the case up close.
Yoon Yi Joon is described as a pampered yet emotionally distant character with a mysterious charm, while Kang Jae Hee is a stoic and sharp-witted woman whose gender-bending disguise brings comedic and romantic tension to the forefront. Their unique dynamic promises to deliver explosive chemistry, making this drama one to watch.

Im Siwan, a member of ZE:A, has become a dependable actor with diverse roles in dramas and films such as Unlocked, Road to Boston, Boyhood, and Squid Game. His character in Why You Don’t Know It’s a Girl? is expected to show a new side of him as a “man-out-of-a-manhwa” chaebol with unexpected softness.
Seol In Ah continues to expand her range, recently appearing in dramas like Oasis, Twinkling Watermelon, and Oh My Ghost Clients, and showing her strength as a boxing champion in the variety show Iron Girls 2. In this series, her portrayal of a cool, chic woman disguising herself as a man is anticipated to highlight another fresh facet of her charm.
With this charismatic duo at the helm, Why You Don’t Know It’s a Girl? is already drawing buzz for its potential to blend heart-pounding suspense, sharp humor, and irresistible romance.
