From October 4th to 6th, BTOB’s former member Jung Il-hoon will hold an exhibition called “tinyark” Exhibition in Seongsu-dong, Seongdong-gu, Seoul, to share his paintings with fans during his self-reflection time.
This exhibition was an opportunity for him to inform his fans of his health and continued his in-depth communication with fans by selling various goods in addition to his work.
At the exhibition, various goods such as T-shirts, hooded T-shirts, ball caps, eco-bags, mugs, key rings, and photo books are sold, and 10 types of special photo cards are also presented depending on the purchase amount.
Jung had the first and second floors decorated to provide special gifts to fans and shows off his artistic sense through the exhibition.
Previously, on the afternoon of Nov 18th, 2023, the Seoul High Court held a trial on the decision of an appeal court against Jung Il-hoon, who was arrested on charges of violating the law on drug management. On this day, the prosecutors demanded a 2-year prison term and a fine of 126,63 million won compared to the 4-year term and 123 million won in fine suggested during the first trial.
The court explained, “He has systematically bought and used large quantities of marijuana over a long period using meticulous methods such as virtual currency. The defendant has played a leading role in this overall crime.”
However, Jung Il-hoon’s attorney appealed that the actual time and amount of marijuana purchases done by Jung Il-hoon has been excessively reported. They also appealed for a lower sentence as the related legal principles such as the required fine seem to have been mistaken.
After the appeal trial, Jung Il-hoon appealed for leniency by submitting a letter of apology to the court 88 times.
After his release, he apologized to his fans by posting on his personal SNS, “I was able to reflect on my life while reflecting on my investigation, trial, and imprisonment over the past few years.”
Jung Il-hoon was indicted on charges of transferring about 133 million won to purchase a total of 826 grams of marijuana, using them a total of 161 times between July 2016 and January 2019. He got enlisted on May 28th last year as a social service worker but was sent t the prosecution in July of the same year on charges of violating the law on drug management. He then left his group BTOB in December 2020 after his allegations went public.
