The rumors come amid a surge of alarming crimes involving abductions, torture, and scams targeting South Koreans in Cambodia. In response, South Korea’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a special travel advisory, while the National Police Agency’s International Crime Investigation Unit confirmed that an increasing number of Koreans have fallen victim to online fraud and drug-related crimes in the country.
As reports about criminal activity in Cambodia spread, online communities began circulating posts about Hwang Hana’s alleged whereabouts. According to a IYSS report in June, Hwang is believed to be living in a luxury apartment complex in Phnom Penh. She reportedly relocated there after spending time in Thailand and is said to be associating with members of the Thai elite.
Hwang Hana, once engaged to singer and actor Park Yoo Chun, made headlines when their engagement ended following her drug abuse allegations, which later led to both facing criminal charges. South Korean police have since requested Interpol’s cooperation in locating her.
Meanwhile, interest in former BIGBANG member Seungri has resurfaced as an old video of him attending an event in Cambodia reemerged online. The clip shows Seungri greeting the audience on a stage bearing the logo of “Prince Brewing”, which netizens suspect to be connected to “Prince Holdings”—one of the entities allegedly tied to the so-called “Prince Compound”, a complex at the center of human trafficking, gambling, and fraud operations in Cambodia.
Reports have described the “Prince Compound” as a hub for illegal activities including scams, gambling, and narcotics, often involving foreign victims.
Since his release from prison in 2023, Seungri has reportedly been seen in Cambodia and the Philippines, sparking rumors about his involvement in overseas business ventures. However, following renewed speculation about his potential links to the compound, Seungri’s side has remained silent, offering no official statement on the matter.
