On October 12, Kim Woo-bin appeared as a guest on the YouTube channel Fairy Jae-hyung in an episode titled “This video contains the most energetic Woo Bin in recent memory.” The actor joined the show to promote his upcoming Netflix series Genie, Make a Wish.
During the conversation, the host noted that Genie, Make a Wish marks the third time Kim Woo-bin has worked with writer Kim Eun-sook, following A Gentleman’s Dignity and The Heirs.
Kim Woo-bin reflected warmly on their creative bond, saying: “When people I’ve worked with before reach out to me again, it makes me genuinely happy. It means they have good memories of our past work and trust me enough to give me something even bigger.”
However, the actor surprised fans by admitting there was a time he had to turn down one of her offers.
“This new project is special because it’s our third time working together, but actually, she had offered me other roles before too,” he confessed with a smile. “I might sound arrogant, but I did decline once.”
Kim Woo-bin clarified that his refusal wasn’t due to the script itself: “The writing was amazing,” he explained, “but due to directing and scheduling issues, I had to tell her that I couldn’t take it at the time.”
Fans praised his honesty and professionalism, noting how his respect for Kim Eun-sook remains unchanged despite that momentary decision.
