Hu Ge once had one of the most shocking filming experiences of his career when working with Chinese actress Wang Xiaochen, who has long been known in the industry as the “Queen of Kiss Scenes.” During the filming of their 2015 drama Good Times, the actor reportedly became so overwhelmed during a passionate drunken-kiss scene that he ended up vomiting at the filming site.
Wang Xiaochen, who studied Peking Opera from the age of nine before transitioning into acting, has built a reputation for dedication and boldness in her craft. After graduating from the Shanghai Theatre Academy, she chose to work independently rather than signing with a large management company, slowly rising to fame through minor roles and hard work.

To portray her character realistically, Wang actually consumed alcohol before filming, leading to more than 27 takes of vigorous retakes. According to staff reports, Hu Ge ended up bruised from the repeated physical collisions and eventually threw up due to exhaustion and overexertion.
Two years later, Wang made headlines again for her 2017 drama My Physical Education Teacher, in which she performed over 100 kiss scenes with actor Zhang Jiayi. With 38 episodes in total, the series averaged two to three kiss scenes per episode—so much so that Zhang’s lips were reportedly swollen, forcing makeup artists to repeatedly touch up his appearance on set.
Despite her reputation for passionate kiss scenes, Wang Xiaochen is widely respected for her depth in emotional acting and professionalism. Directors praise her commitment, resilience, and willingness to challenge herself—qualities that have helped her earn a stable position among China’s top television actresses.
On the personal front, Wang’s relationship with actor Yu Haoming has drawn significant public attention. In May, Yu Haoming announced he had successfully proposed to Wang, sparking congratulations across social media. However, Wang’s silence on confirming the engagement fueled rumors of a breakup only a month later.
Recently, paparazzi spotted the couple holding hands while strolling through the city, suggesting their relationship remains strong and may soon progress toward marriage.
