The incident, which reportedly occurred in July 2025 as Zi Yu was returning from the Yancheng Music Festival, shows the star initially trying to ignore the fans by covering himself with a blanket. Eventually, however, he could no longer contain his frustration and shouted at the group of sasaengs crowding around his seat, filming him relentlessly despite his discomfort.

“What are you filming for?!” Zi Yu yelled, visibly angered by the intrusive behavior.
Fans familiar with Zi Yu—especially for his role as the “handsome monk” in the interactive game Road To Empress—expressed shock and disgust at the treatment he endured. Comments flooded online, condemning the sasaengs for their aggressive stalking. Many pointed out how disturbing it was that even as Zi Yu shouted at them, none of the fans lowered their cameras.

This isn’t the first time the idol-actor has had to deal with such extreme invasions of privacy. Zi Yu has reportedly faced similar situations multiple times, including instances where he chased away stalkers before filing police reports. The latest viral video has reignited discussions about the dangers of sasaeng culture and the urgent need for stronger protections for artists.
