Netflix’s new drama series Genie, Make a Wish is capturing attention with its luxurious special cast.

Premiering on October 3, the series is a fantasy romantic comedy following Genie (Kim Woo-bin), a thousand-year-old lamp spirit awakened after centuries, and Ka-yeong (Suzy), an emotionally detached human, as they navigate three wishes. The main cast also includes Ahn Eun-jin, Noh Sang-hyun, Go Gyu-pil, and Lee Joo-young.

The series’ surprise card lies in its cameo appearances. Song Hye-kyo appears as “Jiniya,” a former girlfriend of the Satan Genie who controls rain, evoking imagery reminiscent of Jasmine from Aladdin with her elaborate sky-blue costume and smoky makeup.

Daniel Henney transforms into “Kim Gae,” a character entangled in the wager between the Satan Genie and Ka-yeong. Kim Ji-hoon, recently seen on the variety show Crime Scene Zero, portrays his knight, showcasing excellent chemistry.

Supporting roles further enrich the story. Kim Mi-kyung delivers a powerful performance as Ka-yeong’s grandmother Oh Pan-geum, and Woo Hyun-jin plays the angelic divine beast Irem. Seasoned actors Shin Shin-ae, Yang Hyun-min, and Kang Chae-young also bring depth and energy to the series.

Kim Eun-sook’s new series Genie, Make a Wish is exclusively available on Netflix and is currently streaming.
