Clara Lee, once one of the most controversial and talked-about figures in Korean entertainment, has completely transformed her life. Known for her seductive image and countless scandals, she is now enjoying a lavish lifestyle as the wife of a wealthy entrepreneur, living in luxury and traveling the world like royalty. Yet behind the glamorous façade lies a past that continues to stir uneasy memories.

Born Lee Sung Min in Switzerland in 1985, Clara grew up in the U.S. and the U.K. as the daughter of Koreana band member Lee Seung Kyu. With her Western upbringing and striking beauty, she entered the Korean entertainment industry in the mid-2000s, making her mark with supporting roles before rebranding herself under the name Clara in 2012. Her breakout moment came in 2013 when she threw the opening pitch at a baseball game, wearing tight leggings that highlighted her figure and instantly skyrocketed her to “sex bomb” fame.

From there, Clara starred in dramas like Goddess of Marriage and Emergency Couple, as well as the provocative film Casa Amor: Exclusive for Ladies, which earned her international recognition. She later expanded into the Chinese market, appearing in projects such as The Jade Pendant and The Wandering Earth 2. At her peak, she was hailed as Korea’s ultimate “sexy goddess.”
However, in 2014, her career imploded when she accused Polaris Entertainment’s CEO Lee Kyu Tae of sexual harassment via KakaoTalk messages. While initially seen as a victim, Dispatch revealed message records showing Clara herself had sent suggestive photos and flirtatious texts, dramatically flipping public perception. The scandal escalated into lawsuits and counter-lawsuits, with Clara branded as manipulative and dishonest. Though both sides eventually settled, her reputation in Korea was severely damaged.

Amid the fallout, Clara shifted to China, where she regained momentum thanks to her enduring beauty and charisma. Then in 2019, she surprised fans by marrying Samuel Hwang, a Korean-American tech entrepreneur educated at MIT. The couple held a private ceremony in Los Angeles and later settled into one of Seoul’s most expensive residences at Lotte World Tower.

Today, Clara lives a life many would envy—luxury apartments, designer fashion, extravagant parties, and jet-set vacations—without the grind of showbiz. Now 40, she looks youthful and radiant, sharing glimpses of her glamorous married life on social media. For some, she remains a symbol of scandal and controversy; for others, an icon of reinvention and survival.
