On the September 21 broadcast of SBS’s Running Man, recorded just three days after Kim Jong Kook’s marriage, members began teasing him with behind-the-scenes stories from the top-secret ceremony and questions about his new bride.
Cha Tae Hyun even sketched a portrait of Kim’s wife, describing her as “elegant, with big beautiful eyes.” When Ji Suk Jin pointed out that her eyes weren’t single-lidded and her face was slimmer, Cha adjusted the drawing, sparking laughter on set.
Yoo Jae Suk then slyly asked, “So what is your wife doing right now? Is she at home? Did she go to work?” Kim candidly replied, “She took a day off and is staying at home.”
The cast also revealed that Kim Jong Kook sang his own congratulatory song at the wedding, followed by Cha Tae Hyun, who was asked just an hour before the ceremony to perform. “I ended up singing I Love You without preparation,” Cha recalled, adding that the spontaneous moment made even fellow members HaHa and Yang Se Chan cry.

The topic of wedding gifts also came up. Yoo Jae Suk shared that Kim scolded Yang Se Chan and Choi Daniel for giving too much in congratulatory money, jokingly adding, “He even got mad at me, but thanked Ji Suk Jin instead.” Ji Suk Jin quickly clarified, “It’s the most I’ve ever given in my life,” which Kim confirmed before explaining that the younger members simply went overboard.
Despite just getting married, Kim Jong Kook postponed his honeymoon to keep his filming schedule, reaffirming his well-known dedication to work by saying, “Broadcasting comes before the honeymoon.”
