Actor Song Seung-hun is mourning the loss of his mother, who passed away on September 21 at the age of 77.
His agency, King Kong by Starship, released an official statement:
“Song Seung-hun’s mother has passed away today. As a result, the scheduled interview for Genie TV’s Monday-Tuesday drama My Troublesome Star on September 25 has been canceled. We ask for your understanding.”
Currently starring as Detective and Manager Dok Go-chul in My Troublesome Star, Song Seung-hun portrays a character devoted to protecting top star Bong Cheong-ja, played by Uhm Jung-hwa. The drama is set to air its finale on September 23.

Originally, the actor was expected to participate in a press interview on September 25 to share behind-the-scenes stories about the drama’s production and conclusion. However, with the news of his mother’s passing, all related schedules have been canceled.
The funeral will be held privately at Samsung Seoul Hospital Funeral Hall, Room 17. The burial service is scheduled for September 23 at 9:30 a.m., with the first resting place at Seoul Memorial Park and the second at Bukhan River Park.
King Kong by Starship added:
“All funeral procedures will be conducted privately. We ask for warm condolences and comfort for Song Seung-hun and his family during this difficult time.”
