According to Taiwanese outlet ETtoday on September 16, Dee Hsu, who has been nominated in the Best Host in a Variety Show category at the 60th Golden Bell Awards, confirmed she will personally attend the ceremony.
Sharing her thoughts on the nomination, Dee Hsu expressed her emotions: “It’s so touching. I immediately wanted to call my sister to tell her the good news.” She added that attending the ceremony carries deep meaning: “This program was something my sister encouraged me to do, and she even named it. So regardless of whether I win or not, I just want to sit there and have people remember her—that she was creative and always supported me. That’s why I have to go.”

Following Barbie Hsu’s sudden death in February from influenza-related pneumonia during a family trip to Japan, Dee Hsu halted all activities indefinitely. Back in April, she admitted: “My sister’s passing felt like the sky was collapsing. I miss her every day and write songs for her. I think about when I’ll regain the strength to work again because I know she would want me to cherish my life and keep going.”
Her appearance at the Golden Bell Awards will mark her official return to the public eye.
Barbie Hsu and Koo Jun Yup first dated in the 1990s before parting ways. She later married Chinese businessman Wang Xiaofei in 2011, with whom she had two children, before divorcing in 2021. Koo rekindled his romance with Barbie soon after, and the two married in 2022, capturing public attention with their movie-like love story.

Tragically, Barbie passed away on February 2, leaving Koo devastated. He paused all activities to remain in Taiwan, handling her funeral, estate matters, and caring for her children. Reports suggest he now spends time daily at her grave, visibly worn down by grief.
