Han So Hee, once considered one of the most promising faces of Korean entertainment after the success of The World of the Married, is now facing a downward spiral. While her acting skills have often been debated, her beauty, edgy persona, and rebellious charm allowed her to carve out a strong position in the industry. At one point, she was even dubbed “Netflix’s darling,” starring in multiple international-scale projects.

However, her career took a devastating turn after her controversial romance with actor Ryu Jun Yeol. Her unrestrained remarks involving Hyeri, Ryu’s ex-girlfriend, earned her the label of a “homewrecker,” sparking a massive wave of backlash. As a result, she lost numerous brand deals and was heavily criticized by the public.

In 2025, Han So Hee has attempted to stage a comeback, but the results so far have been disheartening. Her new film PROJECT Y, though selected for screening at an international film festival, was immediately boycotted in Korea after its first poster release. Viewers objected not only to its explicit 18+ content but also to Han So Hee’s participation, showing little willingness to accept her return.

Another rumored project, the highly anticipated live-action adaptation of Solo Leveling, has also faced strong pushback. Reports that Han So Hee may take on the lead female role triggered harsh criticism online, with many fans rejecting the idea of her starring alongside popular actor Byeon Woo Seok.

Her struggles extend beyond the screen. On September 11, tickets went on sale for her first fanmeeting Xohee Loved Ones, scheduled for October 26 in Seoul. Yet, five days later, only about 700 tickets were sold, filling just 43% of the venue. Previously, she had canceled planned fanmeetings in New York, Frankfurt, Berlin, London, and Paris, officially citing “unforeseen circumstances.” Still, many speculated the real reason was poor ticket sales, mocking her for overestimating her international fanbase.

Adding to her woes, Han So Hee was once spotted on public transportation shortly after her dating scandal, where she was reportedly laughed at and ridiculed by passersby. With both her personal life and career in disarray, even longtime supporters are questioning whether she has a future in the industry. Once adored by millions, Han So Hee now faces the harsh reality of rejection from both domestic and global audiences.
