Concerns about the rookie girl group RESCENE have intensified after multiple unsettling clips from livestreams fueled speculation about the members’ safety and treatment under their agency.

The controversy began when a behind-the-scenes video of RESCENE on the Idol Backstage YouTube channel showed the members discussing how their dorm rooms had no doors. The conversation suggested the doors were allegedly removed after they failed to follow a company-imposed diet. While the members argued that poor air conditioning made the situation unbearable, a masked staff member reportedly retorted, “If it’s too hot, come sleep in our room!” This raised even more unease among fans, particularly since the staff member was believed to be male.

Shortly after, fans unearthed clips from past livestreams where unsettling screams could be heard in the background. In one of member May’s broadcasts, both a female scream and a loud male yell were audible, followed by a similar incident in another member’s stream. These recordings quickly went viral, escalating fears that something serious might be happening behind the scenes.

The Muze Entertainment’s CEO, Josh Lee, attempted to dispel the rumors, explaining that one of the doors had accidentally fallen after member Minami bumped into it, rather than being deliberately removed. He also denied claims of extreme dieting, stating the members were properly nourished. Lee further insisted the girls had a positive relationship with the company and attributed the screaming sounds to noises from outside the dorm.

Despite the statement, many fans remained unconvinced. The uproar grew to the point that RESCENE member Liv personally reached out to reassure supporters that the group was safe and not being mistreated. Member May also addressed fans through the platform Bubble, clarifying the rumors. “The story has been distorted, so I want to set it straight. We have an equal relationship with the company, and our CEO, directors, and staff all cherish RESCENE more than anyone else. We also trust and work with them wholeheartedly,” she explained. Even so, skepticism persists, with fans divided over whether to trust the agency’s explanation or continue raising concerns.

RESCENE is a multinational five-member girl group that debuted in March last year. The lineup consists of Korean members Woni, Liv, May, and Zena, alongside Japanese member Minami.
