The opening days of New York Fashion Week (NYFW) saw major stars gracing the Calvin Klein show—including BTS’s Jungkook and actress Lily Collins, best known for her role in Emily in Paris.
According to Marie Claire, this marked Lily Collins’ first return to NYFW in 15 years, despite her status as a global fashion icon.
Before taking her front-row seat, photographers captured Lily in a sparkling Calvin Klein two-piece set featuring a cropped tank top and midi skirt. With her chic hairstyle and radiant smile, she looked every bit like Emily Cooper stepping out of Netflix screens.
However, fans quickly focused on her extremely lean figure, pointing out the protruding definition in her abs and the dry, hollow appearance of her midsection.
- “Lily… please eat something!!!”
- “I didn’t recognize her at first. She’s beautiful, but I hope she’s okay.”
- “Can someone give her a cheeseburger right now?”
Social media flooded with mixed reactions, balancing admiration for her style with visible concern for her health.
As Daily Mail recalled, Collins has openly discussed her struggles with eating disorders in her 2017 memoir Unfiltered: No Shame, No Regrets, Just Me. She admitted that her disorder began in her teenage years after her parents’ divorce and once caused her to lose her period for several years.
“My hair and nails became brittle. My throat burned, and my esophagus ached. I was terrified I would never be able to have children,” she wrote.
Ironically, soon after finishing a chapter about her condition, Collins was offered the role of a woman with an eating disorder, forcing her to lose over 20 pounds with the help of a nutritionist.
On September 14, Collins shared a series of photos on Instagram with the caption: “Get ready with me and @voguemagazine for @calvinklein at NYFW.”
Despite her fragile appearance, recent photos show Collins maintaining muscle tone, suggesting she remains active and disciplined with her fitness.
For Collins, who has bravely shared her struggles in the past, the conversation around her NYFW look is a reminder of the fine line between admiration for celebrity fashion and genuine concern for well-being.
