On September 11, a video was released on Kim Jong Kook’s YouTube channel “Gym Jong Kook” where the singer opened up about his wedding preparations. “Thank you for the congratulations,” he began. “The preparations were so tight that I had to step away for a bit. During the ceremony, I even prepared a video message to announce the news to close friends, but because of the decorations, we couldn’t play it at the venue, so I’m revealing it here.”
Addressing his mother’s absence from My Little Old Boy, Kim explained, “It was all because of the wedding. We wanted to prepare quietly. My wife wanted things to stay low-key, and I personally don’t like drawing too much attention.”
The video also showed Kim Jong Kook informing friends about his marriage. Seo Jang Hoon revealed that he had already suspected the news: “When your mother stopped appearing on My Little Old Boy and you bought a new house, I figured it out.” Yoo Jae Suk also chimed in, saying, “I had a feeling there was a purpose behind buying that house. Now it all makes sense,” before warmly congratulating his longtime friend.
Kim Jong Kook tied the knot with his non-celebrity girlfriend on September 5 in Seoul. The ceremony was strictly private, attended only by family and close friends, with Yoo Jae Suk serving as MC.
