Actress Chiang Tsu Ping recently shocked the Taiwanese entertainment industry by publicly accusing Gong Yiting, the son of senior TV executive Gong Meifu, of sexual assault.
Chiang Tsu Ping initially shared the incident on social media anonymously but later posted the man’s photos—some with eyes pixelated, others clear—revealing his identity. One photo showed him wearing a t-shirt marked “SET,” hinting at his connection to Sanlih E-Television (SET).
On September 4, Gong Yiting responded on social media, claiming Chiang Tsu Ping was his ex-girlfriend and that her allegations were false. He stated he would cooperate with police investigations and requested Chiang Tsu Ping remove her posts.
Despite his denial, Chiang Tsu Ping confirmed that her initial post referred to her own assault. Taiwanese media reported that three additional women have come forward, claiming to be victims of Gong Yiting as well.
In response to the controversy, Gong Meifu resigned from his position as senior deputy general manager of SET. In a statement, he apologized for his son’s actions and acknowledged his responsibility as a parent, noting he had retained legal counsel to address the matter according to the law.

The resignation and apology sparked criticism online, with many questioning their sincerity. On September 9, Taipei city councilor Tseng Hsien Ying urged authorities to swiftly close legal loopholes to protect victims.
The Taipei Department of Labor confirmed it is investigating SET’s ties to the case. If the assault occurred during work, the broadcaster would be required under the Gender Equality in Employment Act to conduct an internal investigation and implement corrective measures, including prevention strategies, counseling, medical support, and social welfare services for the victims.
This controversy arose after Chiang Tsu Ping revealed that Gong Yiting had drugged and assaulted her while allegedly harassing other female staff members at SET, sparking public outrage and calls for accountability.
