According to TenAsia on September 10, Kim Jong-kook concluded his long partnership with Kim Gap-jin, director of Turbo JK Company, who had worked with him since 2008. For nearly two decades, Kim Gap-jin was not only his manager but also a close companion, often appearing alongside him on shows like SBS’s Family Outing and My Little Old Boy. He even personally handled production for Kim Jong-kook’s YouTube channel, showing his dedication to both the artist and their friendship.
Earlier this year, Kim Gap-jin officially left Turbo JK Company and is now serving as head of the entertainment division at K-Tigers Entertainment, home to acts such as Rainbow18, Kim Tae-yeon, Min, and Juniel.
Kim Jong-kook also stepped away from Turbo JK Company and signed an exclusive contract with Galaxy Corporation, home to G-Dragon and actor Song Kang-ho. With his longtime manager’s departure, Kim Jong-kook reportedly only brought his on-site manager along during the transition.
After surprising the public with news of his marriage to a non-celebrity, Kim has now taken another major step by joining a powerhouse agency.
Choi Yong-ho, CEO of Galaxy Corporation, said: “Kim Jong-kook has achieved immense success with both group activities and solo activities, while also establishing himself as a top entertainer through his unique charm. It is an honor to work with him as we enter a new AI entertainment-technology era.”

Kim Jong-kook debuted in July 1995 as part of the two-member dance group Turbo, before transitioning to a solo career in April 2001. In 2005, following legends like Kim Gun-mo, H.O.T., and god, he became the fourth and final artist to achieve the “Grand Slam” by winning major awards from all three national broadcasters.
He also rose as a variety show star, beginning with SBS’s X-Man in 2004, and went on to win the Grand Prize at the 2020 SBS Entertainment Awards. To this day, he remains the only artist to have won both a grand prize in music and in entertainment individually, solidifying his unmatched status in both industries.
Now, as he prepares to celebrate his 30th debut anniversary, Kim Jong-kook is planning a special album and concert under his new agency, marking a new chapter in his career.
