On September 9, screenshots of yet another private KakaoTalk exchange allegedly between former ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin and a shaman known as Lee surfaced on online forums, drawing renewed public attention to the ongoing controversy.
Lee, who previously went by the username “Jiyeongnim0814,” has long been accused of advising Min Hee Jin on major decisions regarding ADOR and NewJeans’ lineup. While Min Hee Jin has denied these claims, insisting Lee was “just an acquaintance,” both have stayed silent recently, and Lee has disappeared from the public eye.
The resurfaced scandal comes after older rumors circulated again—claims that Min Hee Jin cut two trainees from NewJeans just before their debut based on the shaman’s suggestions. Originally, NewJeans was said to have been prepared as a seven-member group. Trainee Youngseo, who later joined ALLDAY PROJECT after training under ILLIT’s label, and Japanese trainee Harin, who has since shifted to acting and appeared on the YouTube show Nice to Eat You!, were reportedly excluded at the last minute.
In the latest conversation, Min Hee Jin allegedly vented that a certain K-pop idol, referred to only as “X,” had copied her taste and image:
Min Hee Jin: “People think X is my muse? The truth is, she copied me. I want that clear. She followed me, not the other way around. I hope X can admit it. She’s been pretending all this time.”
