A recent post from a reportedly eliminated contestant of Boys II Planet has sparked widespread attention among viewers. The trainee alleged that certain production staff had “personal picks” and were primarily focused on exploiting the lives of contestants to generate content. The original post has since been deleted.

The trainee described the harsh realities of dormitory life and training, saying: “You really have no idea what kind of discrimination happens during training in the dorm, do you? First of all, some trainees were caught using their phones (actually quite a few), but unfortunately, there was no evidence to prove it. I was one of the trainees caught using a phone and was then completely cut off from signals. I will not reveal who I am.”
Allegations of Discrimination and Favoritism
The post detailed experiences of unequal treatment: “I experienced serious discrimination during the competition, to the point that I couldn’t even go to the hospital properly. Even when I reported it to the staff, the discrimination was very clear. It felt like they simply didn’t want to bother with certain trainees, allowing some to go while others were denied.”

The trainee emphasized that while the production team publicly claimed fairness, the reality was far different: “The production team always says everything is fair, but from my experience, that’s completely untrue. I believe at least half of the other trainees feel the same. There was even a writer who only followed the team of trainee LSW (K-net users believe this refers to Lee Sang-won). Another person was rumored to have a ‘close relationship’ with an eliminated trainee.”
Exploitation for Content
According to the trainee, some staff members prioritized certain contestants over others and used trainees’ daily lives to produce content. “During breaks in the studio, some writers took photos of the trainees, but many staff members were clearly only focused on following their ‘picks.’ I don’t know exactly who my assigned writer was, but I remember the two people I just mentioned because it was widely discussed among the trainees. Even Team C trainees, who could barely communicate due to the language barrier, knew someone was constantly following LSW.”

The post clarified that while the program might not have been fully rigged, the elimination process still felt exploitative: “I’m not saying the entire program was rigged or that the debut lineup was pre-determined, but until I was eliminated, it genuinely felt like they were using our lives as tools to create content.”
Reflecting on the impact of the elimination, the trainee concluded: “Honestly, once I was eliminated, my chances were almost zero. I will delete this post soon. I just feel deeply wronged, and this is my desperate final cry.”

This account raises important questions about the ethics of survival programs like Boys II Planet. Allegations of favoritism, discrimination, and exploitation highlight the need for greater transparency and protection for contestants. While fans eagerly watch the drama unfold on screen, these behind-the-scenes struggles remind audiences that the lives of trainees extend far beyond what is captured for entertainment.
