On September 5, SBS’s investigative program Curious Stories Y delved into the ongoing controversy surrounding actress Song Ha-yoon, who was accused of committing school violence two decades ago.

The episode featured an interview with “Oh,” who claims to be Song Ha-yoon’s former high school junior and victim. Oh alleged that in August 2004, while a second-year student at a high school in Seocho-gu, he was subjected to a one-and-a-half-hour assault by Song Ha-yoon, then a senior. He also claimed that Song Ha-yoon was later transferred due to involvement in another group assault case.
Oh revealed during the broadcast that he is preparing a ₩10 billion (approx. $7.3 million USD) lawsuit against the actress. Explaining the unusual amount, he stated:
“The reason I said ₩10 billion is because an alarm must be sounded so that incidents like this never happen again. Victims have to remain silent because they have no evidence to counter the denials.”

Song Ha-yoon, who rose to stardom with her villainous role in tvN’s hit drama Marry My Husband last year, has not issued a detailed public response since the allegations surfaced in April 2024.
The scandal continues to divide public opinion, with netizens expressing mixed reactions about both the allegations and the accuser’s legal approach.
