Channel A’s drama My Lovely Journey premiered on August 2 with a 0.6% viewership rating, but dropped to 0.3% by its second episode and ended quietly without ever recovering.
In the series, Gong Seung-yeon played Kang Yeoreum, a travel reporter whose journey of growth was portrayed with emotional depth. She showcased a wide range of performances, from the energetic portrayal of an idol and reporter in the early episodes to a more layered depiction of Yeoreum gaining confidence and courage as the story progressed.

Her chemistry with other characters, including clients and colleagues, added richness to the drama. A subtle romance with Yeon-seok and the healing power of the travel sequences allowed Gong to fully embody Kang Yeoreum and bring warmth and heart to the production.
Through her agency, Varo Entertainment, Gong delivered her farewell message: “Through ‘My Lovely Journey,’ I worried about whether I could properly deliver someone else’s precious journey and emotions. But as time passed, I learned so much, felt comforted, and laughed often during this project.”

She continued, “Saying goodbye leaves me with a big sense of emptiness, but I will carry the lessons I’ve learned in my heart and strive to show even better sides of myself in the future. Though ‘My Lovely Journey’ has ended, I believe our journey in spirit will continue. I sincerely thank everyone who supported us until the very end.”
