On the August 20 broadcast of MBC’s variety show Radio Star, Heechul appeared alongside Lee Sedol, Calm Down Man and winner Napoli Mafia of “Culinary Class Wars” for the “Stay Calm Man” special.

During the episode, Heechul reflected on Super Junior’s 20th anniversary, expressing heartfelt gratitude: “I was able to come this far because of the fans who have been with us for 20 years.” He also humorously addressed comments about becoming “kinder” after the group’s comeback, and revealed that he recently lost 5kg, entering what he called his “visual peak.”
Heechul also shared behind-the-scenes stories from his personal broadcasts and variety career, even recalling moments with Lee Soo-man: “I think of him as the benefactor of Super Junior’s 20th anniversary, so I gave him wine as a gift.” He amused everyone by recounting a recent encounter with younger idols, where he discovered that the mother of Music Core MC A-na (Hearts2Hearts) was the same age as him.
True to his “idol legend” reputation, Heechul shared unforgettable stories. He looked back on the time he beat actor Lee Jun-ki to be voted “Most Beautiful Man” early in his career, joking, “At that time, my face did all the work.” He even confessed to being the reason TVXQ’s Yunho broke up with a girlfriend in the past, calling it an “unfortunate mistake.”
When asked about the long-standing dating rumor with Mithra Jin, Heechul laughed it off, saying, “In reality, we’re like brothers, like family.” His candid explanation had the cast in stitches.

Heechul also described how working with Kang Ho-dong transformed him into a staple of terrestrial variety shows. Later, he impressed with spot-on impersonations of Kim Jung-min, Kim Min-jong, and Kim Jang-hoon, proving why he is called a “variety show cheat code.”
He further revealed a funny behind-the-scenes story from the sitcom Rainbow Romance. He repeatedly messed up kiss scenes with actresses Uhm Hyun-kyung and Seo In-young, explaining, “I was always too weak in kiss scenes where I had to lean in, because I was like the gentleman of love.” His honest yet comical confession left the set roaring with laughter.

Even after 20 years since his debut, Kim Heechul continues to evolve as an entertainer, showcasing unmatched wit and charm.
