On August 16, Yubin’s YouTube channel uploaded a new episode of “Spotlight” featuring guests Lee Hyun Yi and Song Hae Na. The trio, who first bonded through SBS’s variety show “Kick a Goal”, reflected on how the program positively influenced their personalities and outlooks.
Yubin explained that joining the show helped her improve her social skills and build new connections. Lee Hyun Yi noted how surprising it was to see Yubin and Song Hae Na in the spinoff dating show “Go Straight for Love”, joking that their onscreen appearances felt unfamiliar.
In response, Song Hae Na opened up about the authenticity of such programs. “People often assume dating shows aren’t real because there are so many cameras, but once you actually do it, you can’t help but get immersed. It was absolutely genuine for me,” she said.
She also recalled receiving zero votes on the program, which gave her new insight. “I never understood why people felt hurt about getting no votes on these shows, but when it happened to me, I finally realized,” she admitted.
Yubin added that she had mentally prepared for the possibility of receiving no votes, but in the moment, she forgot it was a dating show. “We had just been playing soccer, and by then I was being completely sincere,” she explained.
Song Hae Na concluded that appearing on the shows helped her learn patience, shift her mindset, and approach challenges with more positivity.
