Uhm Jung-hwa and Song Seung-heon are reuniting after a decade, following their proven on-screen chemistry in the 2015 film “Wonderful Nightmare”. This time, they return for “My Troublesome Star”, a heartwarming and humorous romantic comedy set to premiere on ENA on August 18.

The drama follows Bong Cheong-ja, Korea’s top star, who suddenly finds herself transformed into an ordinary middle-aged woman overnight. Having lost 25 years of memories, she must navigate the challenges of reclaiming her place in the spotlight. Supporting her is Dok Go-chul, a maverick traffic police officer who disguises himself as her manager while aiming for a return to the violent crimes division.

Both leads have expressed strong affection for the project. Uhm Jung-hwa described it as “fun and meaningful”, praising the cast and production team’s dedication. Song Seung-heon called it a “drama full of humor, joy and heartfelt moments”, adding that he was thrilled to work with Uhm again after so long.

Directed by Choi Young-hoon (One the Woman, Good Casting) and written by Park Ji-ha (Miss Night and Day), the drama brings together a creative team with a track record of audience favorites. Uhm takes on the role of legendary star Im Sera (Bong Cheong-ja), who vanished from the entertainment scene and awakens decades later, determined to stage an emotional comeback. Song plays Dok Go-chul, whose unexpected encounters with Cheong-ja lead to dramatic and comedic twists.

Their reunion has fueled anticipation, with fans eager to see if the duo can surpass ENA’s previous record-breaking hit “Extraordinary Attorney Woo”. Interest spiked after the first teaser, released July 16, surpassed 960,000 views, showcasing Im Sera’s disbelief at her sudden aging and Cheong-ja’s comical yet poignant struggle to accept reality.
