According to reports, a fan discovered Chinese actor Zhang Linghe’s hotel location and leaked it online, prompting repeated relocations for his safety. On the day of a brand event in Hunan Province, another fan attempted to break into the venue, creating a security incident that led to the event’s cancellation.

Despite the disruption, Zhang remained composed, using social media to reassure supporters and reminding them to stay orderly and safe. This is not Zhang’s first encounter with extreme invasions of privacy. Earlier this year, he publicly appealed to obsessive fans—known as sasaeng fans—to stop following his car, tracking his flights, and lurking outside his home, saying such behavior had “seriously disrupted [his] daily life.”

Online, many expressed sympathy for Zhang Linghe and condemned the increasingly bold and boundary-crossing behavior of “sasaeng fans” known across the Asian entertainment industry for tracking idols’ schedules and invading their personal lives. Such extreme actions have long been a source of fear and stress for many celebrities in China and Korea.

Born in 1997 in Jiangsu, Zhang Linghe is known for his striking visuals and refined demeanor, with a strong presence in historical dramas such as Love Between Fairy and Devil, My Journey to You, and Story of Kunning Palace. Before acting, he graduated in Electrical Engineering from Nanjing Normal University and was discovered by a talent manager in 2019.

While speculation continues about his rumored relationship with actress Bai Lu—sparked after their collaboration on Story of Kunning Palace—neither party has confirmed the reports.
