Liverpool have released their new documentary, Champions 24-25: The Inside Story, chronicling the club’s triumphant 2024/25 Premier League campaign. But beyond its celebration of victory, the film carries a profound emotional weight — it is dedicated to the late Diogo Jota, featuring never-before-seen footage and heartfelt reflections from teammates.
The documentary includes Jota’s final interview with the Merseyside club, recorded just days before his tragic death in a car accident in Spain last July, while traveling back to the UK with his younger brother. Contributions from Virgil van Dijk, Alexis Mac Allister, and other teammates are interwoven with those poignant final words.
In the film, Jota reflects on a season marked by persistent injuries, yet defined by one decisive moment: his match-winning goal in April that brought Liverpool within touching distance of the title — the last goal of his career.
“It was a very tough season, but I always fought. That day, I helped the team and felt proud. It’s hard to explain… This is why you dedicate your life and every effort to moments like that — the moments that decide a big game. As a striker, nothing is better than scoring. It’s all worth it when you keep chasing those moments,” Jota shared, his eyes shining with pride and joy.
At season’s end, Jota lifted the Premier League trophy for the first time — a dream he once thought impossible. Having already won the League Cup and FA Cup with Liverpool, this was the pinnacle of his career.

“When I was a kid, I just dreamed of playing in the Premier League. I never dared to imagine winning it. And then we did,” he said.
In a moving closing sequence, Jota looked back on the celebrations with a softened voice:
“Those photos will be shown forever. It’s an extraordinary achievement for a small boy from Gondomar — where I first dreamed this dream. This is a moment I will always cherish because it’s so special.”
Champions 24-25: The Inside Story is more than just a record of Liverpool’s path to glory. It immortalizes the image of a relentless, passionate Diogo Jota — a warrior who gave everything for the red shirt and left the game at the very peak of his career. For fans, it is not simply a sports documentary, but a deeply emotional farewell to a beloved player gone too soon.
