On August 6, just a day after news of Lee Min’s tragic death at age 46, a former team member identified only as “A” took to social media to honor her memory. Accompanying a photo with the late singer, they wrote, “Please join me in mourning her.”
A, who worked with As One for a decade, shared an emotional tribute:
“Though I’m no longer in the industry, I worked with the As One unnies for 10 years. During that time, Minyoung unnie always embraced me warmly when I was still immature and learning. She didn’t treat us like staff, but like real younger siblings — always putting us first, giving us thoughtful gifts, and hugging us with the brightest smile every time we met.”
“She was someone who encouraged me to try anything, praised me without hesitation, and lit up every room she entered.”
The staff member also reflected on seeing Lee Min on television recently and feeling hopeful about reconnecting — only to be hit by the heartbreaking news.
“I hope she’s no longer in pain. Rest in peace, unnie,” the post concluded.
Lee Min was found deceased at her home on August 5 by her husband. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of death. Despite the tragedy, she had been actively promoting music, including the single “Happy Birthday” in June and a live appearance on KBS2’s “The Seasons: Park Bo-gum’s Cantabile” in May — her first TV comeback in 12 years.
