In a recent move that has stirred mixed reactions from fans, YG Entertainment has officially announced that there will be no more face-to-face artist greetings in front of the YG building. The decision comes in response to complaints from local residents, citing discomfort and disruptions caused by fans gathering in the area.
For years, the YG building in Hapjeong, Seoul, has been a well-known hotspot for fans hoping to catch a glimpse of their favorite idols. Occasional greetings and interactions — often spontaneous or scheduled during special events — became a cherished tradition. These moments, particularly with artists like TREASURE, BABYMONSTER, or BLACKPINK, AKMU, WINNER have played a significant role in strengthening artist-fan relationships.
However, YG Entertainment stated that continuing such public encounters has become unfeasible due to ongoing issues with neighborhood disturbances. Although the agency did not elaborate in detail, it emphasized that the decision was made out of consideration for the local community.
The announcement has sparked disappointment and frustration among fans, especially given the reputation of YG idols for being especially warm and considerate during these rare in-person greetings.
