On August 4, PURPLE KISS‘s agency RBW released an official statement via their official homepage, confirming the disbandment, “PURPLE KISS will conclude group activities in November.” The announcement was met with an outpouring of emotion from fans around the world.

RBW explained, “As deep as our sincerity was toward the group, both the company and the members have spent a long time seriously discussing how to move forward. After extensive conversations, we have come to a conclusion based on mutual respect and support for each other’s dreams.”
Despite the group’s upcoming disbandment, RBW reassured fans that all scheduled activities will proceed as planned. “Although group activities will come to an end, we intend to repay the love and support received thus far. Starting with the release of an English-language album at the end of August, PURPLE KISS will continue with Japan promotions, a tour in the Americas and a concert in Korea to spend meaningful time with PLORY (their fandom) before their farewell.”
Following the recent disbandment news, fans and netizens shared their thoughts and frustrations online:
- It seems like you really have to be from a big agency to make it these days… The exposure level is on another level.
- This company only grew because of MAMAMOO. Their planning abilities are a total disaster…
- I only know the group’s name, and I don’t really know their songs or the individual members…ㅜㅜ
- It really feels like mid-to-small-sized agency idols have no place anymore.
- Aren’t they known for being good singers? Their singing videos went viral a while back.
- I always enjoyed listening to their songs whenever they came out… It’s such a shame. ㅠㅠㅠ..
- Honestly, trainee skills and visuals these days have become standardized thanks to training centers and plastic surgery clinics, so there’s not much difference between big and small agencies in that regard. But the difference in planning and marketing capabilities between the agencies is huge—like heaven and earth. I guess it’s because talented young people don’t usually go to small companies, so a lot of them are just run like mom-and-pop shops by outdated execs. There are so many talented idol groups from small agencies who could’ve made it big if only their companies did a better job. It’s really a shame.
- Purple Kiss is so talented—I really thought they’d make it somedayㅠㅠㅠ It’s such a huge lossㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ

PURPLE KISS, consisting of members Na Goeun, Dosie, Ireh, Yuki, Chaein and Swan, debuted in 2021. Celebrating their 5th anniversary this year, the group most recently released their second single “I Miss My…” on July 16.
While fans are saddened by the news, many have expressed gratitude for the group’s artistry and are preparing to send PURPLE KISS off with heartfelt support during their final months together.
