According to Austrian media outlet Kronen Zeitung, during a pre-season training camp with Al Nassr in Austria, Cristiano Ronaldo and his teammates arrived in Salzburg on July 26 aboard a private jet and checked into the Gut Brandlhof Hotel in the town of Saalfelden. However, the tranquility of the luxurious accommodation quickly crumbled as hordes of fans began swarming the area.
Eager to meet the Portuguese superstar, some fans went so far as to infiltrate the hotel’s common areas, including the hallways, and even knocked on Ronaldo’s private room door in hopes of scoring an autograph or selfie. The situation became so disruptive that the 40-year-old forward reportedly warned, “I will call the police.”

The incident has raised serious concerns about the hotel’s security protocols. Though Al Nassr reserved only about a third of the hotel’s 200 rooms, the venue remained open to other guests—many of whom booked specifically to get close to Ronaldo.
Alexander Strobl, the hotel owner, acknowledged the oversight: “Just because someone stays at the same hotel as Ronaldo doesn’t give them the right to demand photos or autographs.” He added that security failed to act quickly enough when the crowd began pushing boundaries.

Despite initial frustration, Ronaldo later appeared in the lobby, generously signing autographs for some of the more respectful and patient fans. Several of them were reportedly moved to tears after meeting their idol.
Even with a 16-person security team accompanying the footballer, the situation proved difficult to manage. Strobl hinted that if Al Nassr returns next year, more stringent security measures will be essential to prevent a repeat incident.
