On the July 28 episode of SBS’s Same Bed, Different Dreams 2: You Are My Destiny, ‘Squid Game‘ actor Jang Jae-ho’s wife Gong Min-jung appeared as a special MC and opened up about her whirlwind romance and life after becoming a mother. The couple, who played a married pair on screen, took their chemistry off-camera, exchanging vows in September last year after discovering Gong was pregnant.
“We originally planned to get married in May this year,” Gong shared, “but after finding out I was pregnant, we moved the wedding up to September last year. I gave birth in January this year.”
Now married for 11 months, the couple is adjusting to parenthood and domestic life. Gong revealed that married life has even reshaped Jang Jae-ho’s daily routine.
“I’m a morning person, and my husband used to be a night owl. But since we got married, he started waking up early with me. Our baby wakes up around 6:30 a.m., and now he helps take care of her.”
Jang Jae-ho, who debuted in 2008 with the stage play That Lingering Feeling Under the Blanket, has been gaining recognition recently through his roles in Netflix’s Squid Game and ENS’s Salon De Holmes.
Meanwhile, Gong Min-jung, who entered the entertainment scene in 2013 with the film Your Time Is Up, has built a solid portfolio with acclaimed performances in Daily Dose of Sunshine, Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha, and Little Women.
Fans have been delighted by the couple’s journey from co-stars to life partners and now parents.
