Andy Byron, the CEO of U.S. tech firm Astronomer, has submitted a resignation letter after being caught cheating, according to the company’s July 19 statement. Astronomer’s board of directors has approved of Byron’s resignation and is currently seeking for a new CEO, said CNN.

Additionally, Astronomer said via LinkedIn that Byron has not made any official statement regarding his personal life scandal, unlike false rumors and fake news that have been spreading. The company also added that the woman who stood next to the cheating couple was not Vice HR Director Alyssa Stoddard like speculations.
Meanwhile, previously during Coldplay’s concert on July 17 at Gillette Stadium in Boston, a brief moment intended to entertain fans spiraled into a scandal that has since dominated tech and social media circles. What began as a playful “kiss cam” segment turned into a viral exposé, with tens of thousands of attendees and millions more online witnessing what appears to be an affair between a married CEO and his subordinate.
The camera captured Andy Byron, CEO of the $1.3 billion data software company Astronomer, in an intimate embrace with Kristin Cabot, the firm’s Chief People Officer. As the couple appeared on the giant screen, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin quipped, “I bet these two are either having an affair or just very awkward.” Moments later, both Byron and Cabot reacted with visible discomfort. He crouched behind the barrier while she turned away, shielding her face.
Social media users quickly identified the pair and unearthed their marital statuses. Byron is married to Megan Kerrigan Byron, with whom he shares two children. The woman in the video, however, was not his wife.
Cabot, who joined Astronomer nine months ago, has an extensive HR background, having held leadership roles at companies like Neo4j and Proofpoint. Ironically, her LinkedIn profile emphasizes “building trust with employees at all levels,” a statement now mocked across platforms. While she wears a wedding ring in her profile photo, her current marital status remains unclear.
Astronomer CEO Andy Bryon issued a statement following a viral video that appeared to expose an alleged affair between himself and his HR director. He apologized to his wife, family, and company.

The incident sparked intense speculation and criticism. Many netizens cited the couple’s body language, close proximity, and natural physical contact as evidence of a romantic relationship. The fact that this occurred publicly, in front of 60,000 people and countless online viewers, only amplified the shock.
Adding fuel to the fire, Byron’s wife reportedly removed his last name from her social media account shortly after the video spread. Neither Byron, Cabot, nor Astronomer have issued public statements, leading to further public scrutiny and conjecture about the nature of their relationship and the company’s internal culture.
