“We are deeply saddened to announce that Tono Nagiko has passed away at the age of 45,” her family wrote. “According to police investigations, her death was caused by an unfortunate accident, not suicide. We respectfully ask for the public’s understanding and privacy during this difficult time.”
Tono Nagiko had recently been working as an independent artist after parting ways with her talent agency. She remained active on social media, sharing updates about her work and personal life. In June 2025, she bravely revealed her struggle with depression, hoping her openness would inspire fans facing similar challenges.

Throughout her life, Tono was known for her tenacity and honesty.
