A bizarre and disturbing case has gripped Chinese social media after it was revealed that a 38-year-old man had been impersonating a woman to seduce and secretly film intimate encounters with unsuspecting men.
The man, identified as Jiao and known online as “Uncle Red”, was arrested by police in Nanjing, Jiangsu province, on July 8 following reports of explicit videos being circulated online. According to Sohu, Jiao lured his victims using fake profiles on dating platforms, claiming to be a divorced woman searching for a sincere relationship.
What makes the case even more shocking is the elaborate daily transformation Jiao undertook. He reportedly woke up at 5 a.m. each day to apply heavy makeup, wear wigs, insert silicone breast forms, and even trained his voice to sound feminine — all without using voice-altering software.
Clips that have gone viral show “Uncle Red” dressed in feminine clothing, appearing soft-spoken and generous — traits that even misled neighbors into believing Jiao was a kind-hearted woman. “She used to share fruits with us,” one neighbor reportedly said.
The recordings, taken in the same modest apartment with unchanged interior, featured Jiao engaging in intimate acts with multiple men. Victims allegedly included university students, office workers, fitness trainers, and even foreign nationals. Each video reportedly lasted from a few minutes up to over 10 minutes, clearly showing faces and acts.
Adding to the deception, “Uncle Red” imposed peculiar “house rules” — requiring each visitor to bring a gift such as fruits, milk, or household items. On one occasion, a foreign man was reportedly turned away for arriving empty-handed.
The scandal has sparked widespread debate. While many netizens have condemned Jiao’s actions as sexual fraud and illegal voyeurism, others speculate that some victims may have been aware of his true identity.
Rumors that Jiao had seduced over 1,600 men in three years were refuted by Jiangning District Police, who stated the number was exaggerated and unverified.
