According to Chinese media outlets such as China Times on Feb 25th, Barbie Hsu’s family initially planned a natural burial but is now also discussing the possibility of finding a burial site and setting up a statue.
That day, director Wang Weichung was asked about his longtime close friend, the late Barbie Hsu, at a press conference for his new project. He responded, “In fact, all my emotions and everything I can say are already written in my column. All I can do is visit her, offer my condolences and do these things. The rest is for the family to decide.” Wang Weichung recently dedicated a weekly column to Barbie Hsu.

When asked about Barbie Hsu’s younger sister Dee Hsu and Barbie Hsu’s husband DJ Koo, he stated, “All we can do is watch over them and offer comfort. It must be difficult, but we must learn to let go. I have experienced such situations many times. Living is very important, and we must move forward.”
The late Barbie Hsu was a well-known Taiwanese actress, particularly famous among Korean fans for her leading role in the Taiwanese version of “Meteor Garden”. DJ Koo was her lover 20 years ago before they reunited and married in 2022, enjoying their married life in Taiwan. However, on Feb 2nd, Barbie Hsu tragically passed away from pneumonia caused by the flu while on a family trip to Japan, shocking many.

Her family initially planned to proceed with a natural burial last week but postponed it after much deliberation. DJ Koo stated, “I want an independent space where I can visit Barbie Hsu and be with her anytime. After discussions with the family, we have decided to reconsider the burial site.” DJ Koo is currently in deep mourning and has suspended all activities.
