On December 29, Sina reported that Zhao Wei (Vicky Zhao) posted on her personal account, marking her second public statement since being banned from the entertainment industry over three years ago. She confirmed her divorce:
“Years ago, Mr. Huang and I dissolved our marriage legally. His lawsuits, news, and statements are unrelated to me. I urge everyone to acknowledge this and refrain from associating me with unrelated matters or news,” Zhao stated.
It was further revealed that Huang Youlong has remarried and had another child. Zhao reportedly filed for divorce in 2019, but the legal process wasn’t finalized until 2021. Due to the extended proceedings, she refrained from specifying an exact timeline for their separation.
In 2020, Zhao deleted all photos of Huang from her social media, sparking rumors of their divorce. However, she expressed frustration at the ongoing speculation. At that time, Huang’s son from a previous marriage posted photos with his half-sister, Xiao Siyue (Zhao and Huang’s daughter), which Zhao liked, leading fans to believe the couple had reconciled.
On December 28, Zhao surprised the public by officially confirming that the divorce had been finalized “several years ago.”
Financial Troubles and Divorce
Chinese media reported that Huang Youlong had exploited Zhao financially, causing her significant economic losses. This was reportedly a primary reason for her filing for divorce.
The couple’s marital issues reportedly began in 2017, when they were fined 600,000 yuan by the China Securities Regulatory Commission for providing false financial information to manipulate the stock market. In 2018, the Shanghai Stock Exchange banned both from investing for five years. Following these events, the couple faced numerous lawsuits.
Huang Youlong’s financial difficulties worsened as he could no longer reinvest, forcing him to take on large debts to offset losses. Since 2019, he has faced demands to repay debts totaling over $141 million.
