BLACKPINK’s Solo Showdown: Jennie, Lisa & Rosé Set to Release New Singles

BLACKPINK’s Lisa, Jennie and Rosé are set to release their solo singles just a week apart, on October 4th and 11th respectively.

The three BLACKPINK members have previously demonstrated their “solo power” by setting new records on major international music charts, including Billboard, with their individual releases. As a result, global fans are eagerly anticipating their new achievements and speculating whether a friendly “in-house competition” might unfold.

Lisa is set to drop her new single “Moonlit Floor” on October 4th. The track samples the 1998 hit song “Kiss Me” by Sixpence None the Richer, which reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100, and remains a familiar tune across generations due to its catchy melody and lyrics.

To build excitement, Lisa surprised fans with a performance of “Moonlit Floor” at the high-profile charity event “Global Citizen Festival” in Central Park, New York on September 29th (KST).

Interestingly, the lyrics “Green eyed French boy got me trippin” have fueled speculation about her rumored relationship with Frédéric Arnault, the third son of Bernard Arnault, chairman of luxury goods conglomerate LVMH, and CEO of Tag Heuer.

However, Lisa faces backlashes due to a ”lip-sync controversy” that emerged following her debut performance of the song. As footage from the “Global Citizen Festival” circulated on YouTube and social media, some pointed out, “Her mouth movements don’t match the song” and expressed disappointment at the apparent lip-syncing, especially given the lack of intense choreography.

Meanwhile, Jennie is set to release her new single “Mantra” on October 11th, marking her first solo release in a year since her special single “You & Me” last October. She’s been actively promoting her comeback, sharing snippets of “Mantra” on her official social media accounts.

This single is viewed as a crucial “solo trial” for Jennie, being her first work since parting ways with former agency YG Entertainment. For this release, she’s made thorough preparations, including partnering with Columbia Records, a major US label home to global stars like Beyoncé and Adele. On August 20th, ahead of her comeback, Jennie also launched a page on the fan community platform Weverse, establishing a new channel for fan engagement.

Last but not least, BLACKPINK’s Rosé is also returning to her fans with a full-length album. According to The Black Label on the 2nd, Rosé will release her new album “Rosie” on December 6th and officially begin her solo activities.

Along with this, the album cover image revealed through official social media shows Rosé with her blonde hair and rosy cheeks, gazing directly at the camera.

Rosé’s doll-like visuals combined with the overall vintage tone create a mysterious atmosphere, and with the album title “Rosie” also revealed, fans are eager to hear the music that reflects her unique identity.

“Rosie” is Rosé’s first full-length album, consisting of a total of 12 tracks, including the title track. Rosé participated in the writing and composing of all the songs on the album, offering a more honest and intimate portrayal of her story.

As these three powerhouse performers gear up for their releases, fans and industry watchers alike are keen to see how their solo careers continue to evolve and impact the global music scene.
