Actress Who Made Her Debut After Getting Signature from Shin Seung-hun at Department Store

The current status of Myung Se-bin, a well-known beauty from the 1990s entertainment scene, is gaining attention

Actress Myung Se-bin debuted in the entertainment industry in 1996 after appearing in the music video for Shin Seung-hun’s song “Love in My Own Way”.

Even from a young age, Myung Se-bin was known for her strikingly beautiful appearance. At 22, she was spotted by Shin Seung-hun’s manager while shopping for clothes at a department store.

While getting a signature from Shin Seung-hun, Myung Se-bin was asked, “Would you like to appear in a music video?” She accepted the offer as a part-time opportunity.

Attracted by the opportunity to earn some extra pocket money, Myung Se-bin readily agreed to appear in an advertisement where she even had to shave her head “for friends battling leukemia”, which helped boost her name recognition.

Myung Se-bin started her full-fledged acting career in 1998, appearing in the movie “Scent of a Man” and the dramas “Purity” and “Paper Crane”.

She gained widespread popularity for her elegant and graceful image. However, she once revealed, “I may seem calm, but when I make a decision, I can be quite passionate and impulsive.”

In 2007, while actively continuing her career, Myung Se-bin married a lawyer 12 years older than her. However, just five months later in 2008, she announced their divorce due to differences in personality.

After a short break, Myung Se-bin made her comeback in 2010 with SBS’s “Three Sisters” and resumed her career.

In 2023, she played the role of a “mistress” in JTBC’s “Doctor Cha”, a role that stirred diverse reactions. She shared, “Some people were happy with my transformation, while others were disappointed, asking why I took on such a character, but when I got the script, I shouted, ‘Oh yeah!’
