The divorce rumors between Jiyeon and Hwang Jae-gyun surfaced suddenly. During a baseball broadcast on June 25 on KNN, a commentator mentioned, “Do you know? Hwang Jae-gyun got divorced. I heard it from the director.” When another commentator asked, “Has there been an article about it?”. The conversation continued, though this part of the broadcast wasn’t officially aired but was caught on a YouTube livestream and quickly spread through online communities.
Following this, on June 20, Jiyeon posted on her YouTube channel, “Due to personal reasons, I won’t be able to upload videos for the time being,” further fueling the speculation about the divorce. Although Jiyeon’s former agency denied the divorce rumors through the media, the fact that her wedding ring with Hwang Jae-gyun was no longer on her finger kept the rumors alive.
