IU Updated New YouTube Video After Soccer Fans Asked Her To Cancel Upcoming Concert Due To Son Heung-min’s Complaint

Amid demands for singer IU's concert to be cancelled, the singer provided updates on the current state of her world tour in her latest YouTube video.

On September 12th, a video was uploaded on IU’s official YouTube channel with the title, “I’m staying up all night practicing my cover song…”

IU, who is currently on her world tour, turned on her camera at a hotel in Bangkok, Thailand. “I was going to go to bed, it’s 12 o’clock. It’s probably 2 o’clock in Korea,” IU said. “I have 10 concerts left in other countries. That’s why I turned on the camera.”

When IU saw herself through the camera, she covered her face, saying, “Ugh, my under-eye bags..?” “I don’t have any concerns other than the cover song… ‘First Love’ is the title,” said IU, regarding the cover song she prepared for her concert in Thailand. “I practiced a lot while listening to it. When I did the birthday live, one of the UAENA in the chat said,” IU, please show us practicing the cover songs!” When I practice the cover songs, I often lose track and focus on difficult pronunciation, which makes me look a bit silly. That’s why I’ve never done it, but someone said “Please show us!” I guess this cover song would be the last one during the tour”

IU said, “The pronunciation was very difficult. This is what I’m most worried about. I did three rehearsals, and I liked the last part and it wasn’t easy.” However, IU covered the song perfectly and received a lot of cheers. “I was so nervous. I was so happy while practicing because I loved this song,” IU said in Thai.

Meanwhile, IU will hold “2024 IU HEREH WORLD TOUR CONCERT ENCORE: THE WINNING” at the Seoul World Cup Stadium on September 21 and 22.

However, after Korea’s 2026 World Cup qualifying match on the 5th, soccer player Son Heung-min pointed out, “The ground condition is not good. I hope it will improve when we play at home,” prompting a complaint to cancel IU’s concert to manage the grass quality at the World Cup Stadium.
