This marked the first time he addressed fans following the recent scandal involving former member Taeil. Haechan’s message, written during his flight to Bogotá, Colombia, for NCT Dream’s Latam tour, reflected on his journey and the bond he shares with his fellow members and fans.
As Haechan enjoyed his in-flight meal, he took a moment to share his thoughts, expressing his disbelief that NCT is now celebrating its eighth anniversary. Reflecting on his journey, he acknowledged that while his love for singing and dancing brought him into this career, he has since learned that there are many more aspects to consider in his work. He emphasized the importance of hard work and staying grounded, crediting his members for their support throughout the years.
Haechan expressed his gratitude for the camaraderie and teamwork that has allowed him and his group to achieve so much. He marveled at the realization that the members he jokes around with are also beloved celebrities, cherished by countless fans. He recognized that their collective efforts, though they may seem insignificant to some, were the result of years of dedication and perseverance, leading to the release of numerous albums and countless achievements.
Getting emotional, Haechan conveyed his deep love for his group and promised to always do his best for NCT. He reflected on the challenges he faced while promoting in two groups, acknowledging the physical and mental toll it took on him. However, he expressed immense gratitude to his fellow members for keeping him strong during those tough times, admitting that his heart swelled with emotion.

“Haechan has reached Bogotá! I had a lot of thoughts on my mind all throughout today, so I thought I would tell some of them to you guys as I eat my inflight meal, haha.
How can it be that this year marks our eighth anniversary… To be honest, I started this job with a love for singing and dancing, but I realized that there are many more things that are more important, and that I have to take into consideration, other than singing and dancing. Of course, I’m still learning, but the thing that I’ve come to learn the most is that we always have to work hard so that we are not deluded… These things aren’t something I created all by myself because I’m so great, but if my members had not been next to me, would I have been able to come this far? Would I be able to have as much fun as I am now? No — would I even have the opportunity to be having fun? Sometimes when I see the members in one file in front of countless NCTzens during shows, I feel kind of weird inside. Like, “Ah, right, the members are celebrities LOL. These people I love and depend on as I joke around and play with them, are really cool people that are loved by so many.” There’s times were I get fascinated like that. I’m able to do all these things because I have such members by my side! Although all these things we have achieved may seem like nothing to some people, we really worked so hard. During these eight years, we released so many albums that I can’t even count them. We’ve worked so hard truly.
As I promoted in two groups, I’m really thankful that both groups were loved by many and we were able to be recognized even a little, and win first place many times. But to be honest, most of the time, my schedule was tough physically and mentally. Even so, I am so grateful to my members for always holding me together so that I don’t give up in the midst of that. I’m really so thankful… So much so that my heart clouds…
I cannot do things half-heartedly, even just a little. I’m saying this because just as I have been, I will be working really hard in the future because of my members. These three letters, “NCT,” are my everything. It is the name that I have to protect alongside my members. I’ll work hard so I can continue to shine. So everyone, please continue to look over us in the future. Please cheer us on a lot, and please anticipate lots from us. Please love us lots. I’ll really do my best for good music and good performances.
