ADOR “Min Hee-jin’s 2-Month Contract? It Covers Her Remaining Term as Internal Director”

On August 30th, an ADOR representative told MyDaily, “Min Hee-jin’s term as an internal director runs until November 1st, so the contract was sent to cover her role during the remaining period. Any subsequent contracts would be discussed alongside a renewal.

Regarding the termination clause mentioned by Min Hee-jin’s side, the representative explained, “This clause is a minimal safeguard to prevent actions that could cause significant management damage if the producer does not faithfully fulfill her duties. Considering Min Hee-jin’s role, the contract was prepared similarly to the delegation contracts used for other executives, and such clauses are naturally included in delegation agreements.

The representative also noted, “If there are disagreements about the contract terms, the normal procedure would be to discuss them with ADOR’s board of directors rather than issuing a public statement.

Earlier that day, Min Hee-jin’s legal representative Sejong Law Firm stated that ADOR board chairman Kim Joo-young sent Min Hee-jin a contract titled “Delegation Contract” on August 28th, but argued that the terms were one-sided and unreasonable, making it difficult to understand from a common-sense perspective.

Min Hee-jin’s side pointed out that the contract period stated in the delegation contract was from August 27th, 2024 to November 1st, 2024, totaling just two months and six days, and was filled with “toxic clauses” that allowed ADOR to unilaterally terminate the contract. Consequently, they determined that signing the contract was not possible.

Meanwhile, on August 27th, Min Hee-jin was dismissed from her position as CEO by ADOR’s board but retained her role as an internal director. Kim Joo-young, who joined HYBE in 2022 as Chief Human Resources Officer, was appointed as the new CEO of ADOR.
